Treabar – The Fate of Noctaria in the Midst of Changing Environments: Challenges Ahead

Here we are, with the original game, Genshin Impact, reaching version 5.7. After the update for version 5.8, the next region that the travelers will visit is not the Frostbind region, as expected, but a place called Norden Karel. The official has been building up the narrative for this region from the very beginning, and has been heavily promoting it, with many players getting excited. However, I believe that the Norden Karel region will likely fail. Do you think so?
Firstly, there is a significant issue with the current Genshin Impact environment. Players can sense that since the Na’Tok version began, the game’s experience has not been as comfortable as before. Why? It’s simple. The environment has changed, and it’s no longer as it was before. High-frequency events and high-quality storylines, on the surface, seem to be more abundant, but in reality, there is a significant reduction in content quality. As a result, players can no longer experience the high-quality stories from the Fanchen region.
Secondly, the current Genshin Impact players cannot bear the excessive grinding. Previously, you could say that Genshin Impact was hard, and players were satisfied, but now, the players have no energy left. In fact, it’s not the fault of the players; it’s mainly due to the planning team’s controversial methods. Originally, the players were quite hard-core, but over the years, the planning team has been reducing the grinding in the game, causing the players to gradually get used to it.
Furthermore, the positioning of the Norden Karel region is extremely awkward. What is it? It is a completely detached region from the core elements of Genshin Impact. From the perspective of the world view, it is an independent region, which has caused players accustomed to the seven elements in Genshin Impact to wonder about its positioning. Previously, many players were eagerly awaiting the Frostbind region, but they will be disappointed with Norden Karel, as it would take another year to wait for the Frostbind region, making the failure of Norden Karel unlikely.
So, why did the planning team decide to create Norden Karel? In fact, I believe it is for the purpose of extending the lifespan of the game. Initially, the planning team wrote the world view and script too rigidly, fixing the seven elements and seven countries, but to their surprise, Genshin Impact became so popular that they now need to find ways to extend the game’s lifespan through patchwork methods.
As a result, we see that the creation of Norden Karel, but why I say it will fail is simple. The planning team is also feeling tired. After going through five major versions, we can clearly see that Genshin Impact’s high-quality content has shown signs of fatigue. The game has been maintaining high-quality outputs in terms of plot, art, and music for a long time, but due to insufficient production capacity, content has become repetitive or superficial. This can be seen clearly from the activities in these versions.
